Big Bad Afghan Bag

Since I became hooked on making scrap blankets using leftover bits and pieces, I was frustrated in trying to wrangle everything in one place. My huge collection of project bags just didn't fit the bill. So I designed this bag and it is currently in "test" mode. It's pretty basic, but I think it is all I will need.

It is a flat rectangle with two large pockets - one for the yarn, one for the afghan in progress. There are snaps on the pockets and snaps along the top of the bag to secure the load. Dimensions are 40" by 28" with two 16" by 24" pockets on the inside.

I had some fabric leftover from a knitting bag I made for my daughter. I used cotton quilt batting between the print and lining to make it sturdier. A canvas weight would be great for the outside.

Empty bag closed.

Bag opened up showing the 2 inside pockets.

Bag loaded with yarn and afghan. Looks sort of like a duffle bag when full.
